The swim training camps are the highlight of the year for our team!

 

Every summer, we travel to Turkey for a swim camp that's packed with excitement. Not only do we swim in beautiful blue seas everyday but we also get out and explore the local history and sample the delicious food.

​

The best part? You can earn the highly coveted 5km and 10km club swim badges!

​

It's an experience that fosters lasting friendships with shared ambitions to swim, bike and run further. 

​

We can't wait for the squad of 2025!

EXAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1

Meet at Bristol airport to meet team group photo.
Arrive in Turkey and travel to Akbuk.
Unpack and settle into Accommodation.
Tour of Akbuk and the Swimming Venues.

Day 2

07:00 am: Morning Sea swim introduction to sea swimming.
09:00 am: Post swim brunch.
12:00 pm: Walk into the village to get supplies and make lunch.
1:00 pm: Afternoon nap.
4:00 pm: Evening sea swim, swimming through waves. 
7:30 pm: Walk into town for dinner.

Day 3

06:00 am: Optional Run Session.
08:00 am: Sea Swim to harbour approximately 4km. 
9:45 am: Brunch
11:00 am: Chill by the pool/explore the local area.
12:30-2:30 pm: Lunch afternoon nap.
3:00-5:00 pm: Trip Out.
6:00 pm: Evening swim working on technique.
8:00 pm: Dinner out.

Day 4

08:00 am: Morning sea swim

3-4km.
09:30 am: Brunch.
1:00 pm: Chill by the pool.
2:30 pm: Trip out to a place of interest.
6:00 pm: Evening swim 2km.
8:00 pm: Dinner out.

Day 5

08:00 am: Morning Swim.
10:00 am: Brunch.
1:00-4:00 pm: Trip to Didim.
7:00 pm: Evening swim 1500-2km. 

8:00 pm: Dinner out

Day 6

07:00 am: Long swim day.
10:00 am: Brunch.
11:00 am: Post swim Yoga.
12:00-2:00 pm: Nap (you need it)
3:00 pm: Trip to Village.
8:00 pm: Dinner out.

Day 5

07:00 am: Final morning swim.
09:00 am: Brunch.
11:00 am: Team debrief.
12:00-4 pm: Trip to Village and pack to travel home.
6:00 pm: Travel Home.

TRAINING CAMP CHRONICLES

A great experience for those with a bit of open water experience who are looking to develop their abilities, increase confidence and improve their technique. Hard to believe that from not being able to do front crawl 18 or so months ago I can now swim 5k in the sea. Comfortable clean accommodation and an easy walk to the sea. Not forgetting the really great restaurants on the sea front for when you’ve worked up an appetite - as well as a couple of trips to see ancient sites as part of recovery. Beautiful swimming spot. Highly recommend.
